Educational Guidance Forum Reviews Achievements and Development
The Educational Guidance Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education held its fourth forum of 2026 at the Ministry’s headquarters, attended by Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Mohannadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, alongside department leaders and educational supervisors.
The forum reviewed the department’s key achievements during the 2025–2026 academic year, the results of its self-assessment against operational plan indicators, and opportunities for development. It also highlighted outstanding educational practices that have contributed to improving student learning and enhancing educational performance.
In his speech, Al-Mohannadi emphasized the important role of educational supervisors in improving education quality. He highlighted the need to further develop educational guidance, support teachers in addressing classroom challenges, and promote teaching practices that have a tangible impact on student learning.
He explained that education quality extends beyond completing curricula and raising academic achievement; it also involves developing students’ skills and abilities in understanding, critical thinking, and application. He stressed the importance of providing teachers with a supportive professional environment, strengthening collaboration among educational supervisors, teachers, and school leaders, and drawing on educational expertise to achieve sustainable improvements in student learning.
The forum also featured interactive discussions in which educational supervisors responded to questions based on real classroom situations, encouraging the exchange of perspectives on improving teaching practices and strengthening support for teachers and students.
Fatima Ahmed Al-Rashed, Acting Director of the Educational Guidance Department, explained that the department is implementing an initiative to develop the educational guidance system based on the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) continuous improvement methodology. The initiative aims to enhance supervisory practices, improve professional support for teachers, and measure the impact of educational guidance on teaching quality and student learning outcomes.
Al-Rashed noted that the department’s priorities for the 2026–2027 academic year include developing educational supervisors’ skills, strengthening their ability to provide professional support to schools, and adopting innovative initiatives and practices that improve education quality and learning outcomes.
Other priorities include transforming high-performing schools into centres of expertise to share successful practices with other schools, providing targeted support to schools requiring improvement based on data analysis and identified needs, and empowering subject coordinators to provide ongoing educational guidance within schools.
The Educational Guidance Department plays a key role in improving teaching practices through classroom performance monitoring, technical and professional support for teachers, and strengthening educational guidance in schools. These efforts align with Qatar National Development Strategy 2024–2030, particularly its objectives of developing a high-quality education system, building human capabilities, and equipping future generations with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute effectively to national development.
