The Ministry of Education and Higher Education organised the “Government Excellence Award Workshop for Senior Leadership” at the ministry’s theatre, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry, with wide participation from department directors and section heads. The workshop aimed to reinforce a culture of quality, review the ministry’s results in the second cycle of the Qatar Government Excellence Award 2025, and discuss aspirations for sustaining outstanding performance.
In his opening speech, H.E. Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, stressed that excellence is an institutional approach and a firmly established culture based on creativity, mastery, and sustainability. He expressed pride in the ministry’s achievement of winning the “Leadership in Human Capital Development Award”, describing it as a reflection of the ministry’s commitment to investing in national talents. He also emphasised that excellence is an ongoing journey that requires continuous development and improved performance efficiency.
His Excellency also thanked the Institutional Performance Efficiency Project team, the project’s strategic partner, criteria owners and their deputies, as well as all work teams across the ministry’s sectors, whose dedication and teamwork positively contributed to the development of the institutional system.
In the same context, Mr. Nasser Dawood, Director of the Educational Planning, Policies and Innovation Department and sponsor of the Institutional Performance Efficiency Project, congratulated the ministry on winning the Leadership in Human Capital Development Award for 2025. He explained that it is one of the specialised sub-awards under the Government Excellence Award, which relies on strategic workforce plans and localisation strategies in which the ministry is considered a leading entity, in addition to its continuous efforts to improve the employee work environment and measure staff satisfaction.
He highlighted the ministry’s distinguished training and development programmes, such as “Tamkeen”, “Tamheen”, and “Successful Start”, which directly contributed to achieving this excellence, alongside the ministry’s constant commitment to active participation and competition for awards.
The workshop focused on presenting a brief overview of the key outcomes of the second cycle of the Qatar Government Excellence Award and the positive indicators and results achieved, which culminated in the ministry winning the “Leadership in Human Capital Development Award” for 2025. This achievement came as a result of the integrated efforts made by various work teams in cooperation with the project’s strategic partner, criteria owners, and their deputies, reflecting the development of the ministry’s work system and its readiness for future award cycles.
At the conclusion of the workshop, H.E. the Undersecretary honoured 144 individuals, including criteria owners, their deputies, and work teams involved in preparing for the award, in recognition of their outstanding contributions and to reinforce a culture of appreciation and teamwork.
