Her Excellency Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education, attended a press conference announcing the launch of the “Qatari Trainers Localization Initiative” in educational and training service centres. The initiative was introduced by the Educational Services Centres Department under the Private Education Affairs Sector during a press conference held on Sunday morning at the Ministry’s headquarters. It aims to support national talents and strengthen their presence in the training and continuing education sector.
The event was attended by His Excellency Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education; Mr Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama, Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs; Ms Iman Al Nuaimi, Director of the Educational Services Centres Department; along with several ministry officials, owners of educational centres, and Qatari trainers participating in the initiative.
Ms Iman Al Nuaimi delivered a presentation outlining the initiative, which comes in response to the rapid growth in private educational and training service centres. The initiative seeks to empower Qatari trainers and enhance their skills, contributing to improved training outcomes and strengthening the country’s sustainable learning ecosystem.
She revealed strong engagement from national talents, with 121 Qatari trainers registering to participate, reflecting increasing interest in training and professional development.
She emphasised that the initiative aims to increase the presence of Qatari trainers in educational centres and provide them with professional opportunities in training and development. It also seeks to raise awareness of the importance of supporting national workforce development, highlight the achievements of Qatari trainers, and build networks for knowledge exchange among them, in alignment with national priorities and in support of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Regarding future steps, she explained that interviews will be conducted with registered trainers, who will then be granted certified licences and identification cards to work in educational and training service centres. A list of licensed trainers will also be circulated to centres, with follow-up measures to ensure their engagement in training programmes.
She concluded that the initiative represents a significant step towards empowering national talent in the training sector, strengthening their role in supporting the knowledge-based economy, and fostering a culture of lifelong learning.
