The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced the launch of the Professional Licensing Program during the 2025–2026 academic year. The program aims to evaluate the professional practices of teachers, coordinators, and school leaders, based on the practical application of the national professional standards.
The licensing process covers the following categories: teachers, coordinators, and school leaders — including principals and vice principals for academic and administrative affairs. The evaluation is carried out by specialized committees responsible for assessing the actual professional practices of applicants. These committees use precise tools to measure the extent to which applicants’ performance aligns with the national professional standards approved in the State of Qatar. The Ministry had previously gathered feedback from licensed professionals and evaluators, taking their recommendations into account to ensure accuracy in implementation and assessment.
This initiative is considered a cornerstone in Qatar’s efforts to enhance the quality of education and to foster a professional culture grounded in genuine performance, in line with international standards.
