Ministry of Education Joins “Drive Your Children to School” Campaign

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education participated in the “Drive Your Children to School” campaign, launched by the Ministry of Social Development and Family to coincide with the start of the new academic year. As part of its participation, the Ministry presented 6,000 roses to parents at 103 schools in appreciation of their commitment to driving their children to school, while highlighting the importance of parental presence and the family’s role in supporting children and preparing them for a positive start to the school day.

The Ministry’s participation comes within the framework of cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and Family, reflecting the joint efforts of both ministries to support families, strengthen their role as key partners in the educational and developmental process, and promote practices that help strengthen relationships between parents and their children while enhancing children’s sense of care, security, and stability.

The “Drive Your Children to School” campaign aims to encourage parents to be more present and involved in the details of their children’s lives, transforming the daily journey to school into an opportunity for conversation, connection, and building trust. This helps prepare children psychologically and emotionally to begin their school day in a positive way.

In this context, Ms Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi, Director of the Public Relations and Communication Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, stressed that the campaign’s broader objective goes beyond simply driving children to school. It highlights the importance of parents being present in their children’s lives and sharing in their daily experiences, given the positive impact this has on developing their personalities and strengthening their sense of security, care, and belonging.

She explained that the Ministry’s participation included a symbolic gesture of presenting 6,000 roses to parents at 103 schools in appreciation of their commitment to driving their children to school and sharing the beginning of their school day with them. She noted that the gesture received a highly positive response from parents and schools and reflected the initiative’s positive messages about the importance of family presence in children’s lives.

The “Drive Your Children to School” campaign will continue throughout the academic year through awareness content and interactive activities implemented by the Ministry of Social Development and Family in cooperation with participating organisations. These efforts aim to broaden the campaign’s impact, reinforce its messages, and strengthen parental involvement throughout children’s educational and developmental journey.
